I’ve had a customer call me about an intermittent fault on this machine. As it’s nearly an hours drive to get there, I would like some information on what to look for. I believe it might be a board fault. Symptoms, when she put the maching on and selects a program, the LED display lights up, but nothing comes up, then after playing with the dial the program ID will appear. Sometimes it will work straight away. Then on the odd occation the LED doesn’t even light up.

Wrong forum, should post this stuff in Trade Technical.

Check the ribbon connection between the display board and power module.

    Faulty plug or wall socket?

    Megger heater.

    That should cover it. 😉

Check the dryer element, very likely it’s going to earth.

Thanks. Would the drier element cause an intermittent fault like this is showing?

Yes, that’s why I suggested you Megger the heater. 😉

Yeah, it can cause a blank display and sometimes comes on after an hour or so if you leave it. Turning the dial to dry and back sometimes kicks it in. Obviously check it with a megger to confirm though.
