    Hi Guys,

We recently had an interlock issue with our WD71, but got it going again (BIG thanks to iadom), having replaced the blown control PCB, and interlock. Now the machine starts , fills with water, then stops, showing ‘Error E30’…MOTOR fault?
We fitted a spare motor, no joy…I have searched everywhere for an elusive 7.5A fuse, but cannot find one anywhere….seems to me there’s only one possible part that can be at fault…the power PCB….am I right? It shows no signs of damage, unlike the control module…..is there any easy way I can confirm this? Although we have come this far, having nearly replaced the whole machine bit by bit!

Thanks again for all your help.

Did you check the motor brushes on the spare motor you fitted?!

    Hi Gerry,

Yes, those brushes are almost new, and hardly worn….
I just thought the PCB would show more signs, and I’m not brilliant with a Multimeter…

If the brushes had worn on the original motor it can take out the fast blow, glass fuse I f fitted, because not all machines have one. On some it is fitted to the main power board and on others it is inside a black, plastic cartridge in the wiring harness to the motor.

Thanks iadom. Sadly, have searched thoroughly for the glass fuse, and it just doesn’t seem to be there…looks like our machine is one of the old ones before they started fitting them….

E30 is rarely a pcb failure, motor brushes, broken wiring in motor plug, fuse if fitted all common.

I wonder if, with that multimeter, you have checked to confirm full continuity across all the motor pins?

I have tested the motor with my (underworked) multimeter, and get the following:

    RPM sensor – 137.9 ohms
    Brushes – 3.1 ohms
    Field windings – 0.7-1.2 ohms

Will check the other wiring tonight for breaks….

Can’t find any fault with the wiring….I’m at a loss….may just have to declare defeat… 🙁
