I’ve tried all cycles and the same result each time.
It seemingly starts OK but I don’t hear the gurgle of the drain, for one thing, although the only water is the bit in the sump and what’s standing in the drain hose.
The usual swooshy noises don’t ensue, just a steady hum. The LED timer seems to start at 16, counts down until it gets to 1 minute and then just stays there, as the machine hums away.
Opening the door a few minutes into the cycle, rather than the usual faceful of hot spray, there is just a weak squirt of water coming out of the arms, neither of which are rotating.
I cleaned out both arms but no difference. I also noticed the filter wasn’t in properly and found a chickpea, drowned wasp and a chunk of glass under it, at the bottom of the sump. Could this be a cause?

Ah well. I’ll start by investigating the drain pump, see if it’s jammed due to an object getting past the loose filter. The fact that water’s coming through the spray arms suggests that’s not it though, doesn’t it?

Then I’ll see if I can find this capacitor that might have gone, near the main pump motor. Replace that and see if it does owt. According to your self-help pages, that’s the most likely cause of weak washing.

OK I’ve investigated further. By running it with the door interlock overridden, I see that the problem is that it isn’t filling. The main pump tries to circulate the nonexistent water and there’s simply a sucking sound and a very weak dribble of water.
I filled it with a bowl of water and it ran fine. Went through the cycle and drained OK.
Hope someone can help here. The cold supply is ok btw.

    Check the inlet valve.

Take an ohms measurement in the Komh range to clear it electrically. See if it’s getting main power when it should (during fill ie, you should hear it “buzz”). Also check if the little cap (piston housing) is nice and clear, if it looks brown/rusty on the inside it will be jammed up. You can free them up with WD40 and a small round steel brush, but it will likely cease up again in the future, best is to replace it.

If the valve checks out next is the flow meter and the inlet housing, check the latter for scale and gunk build up making it activate the flood switch prematurely or intermittently.
