Hi All,
Our fridge / freezer has been intermittently powering off for some time – having read a few posts it appears the main PCB is at fault.
I ordered a new unit and as I was led to believe from the description, the unit is not identical, but am not too concerned.
However, when trying to install, the layout of the connectors on the new PCB means that the existing wiring harnesses are too short (the old board had all except one connector at the far end, the new PCB has them at both the front and the rear edge – the PCB itself only fits one way). I have tried to give them a good tug, but they do not appear to have any free play. I have tried to strip the back of the fridge to see how they are held in place, but of course is filled with insulation, so I wonder if the wiring loom is sealed in? In which case, am I right to think that I will need to cut the loom to extend the wiring to make the new unit fit?
Many thanks in advance if anyone with experience of changing one of these can give any advice!
