Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to how old a Hotpoint WMA54 washing machine might be?

the WMA range was introduced around 2001. I dont think this was one of the early ones so I would guess around 2003 to 2006
In good condition these units are reliable. these are the last units Hotpoint produced that is worth reconditioning after this the electronics and drums cause more problemsDave

If you could give us the serial number from inside the door we could tell you the exact month of production.

Thank you both for this. I remember well the WMA range coming out in late 2000 to replace the WM series as I was still working for the Co-Op at that time, in an electrical store. In 2001 there was an updated range of WMA models, and again in 2002. All looked the same (except for the introduction of the raised Hotpoint logo on a blue background on the last range) and I know Hotpoint had been having dreadful issues with drum bearing failure across the first two ranges. But then I left the store in 2002.
This Hotpoint I am asking about is one which came after that, with a more square door and slightly different program dial, so I was thinking about 2003. I don’t actually own the machine yet (I have purchased it blind as it is part of a deal of some other things I want from a house clearance, but I do know it works as I know the person who owns it, he just can’t recall when he bought it) so I don’t have the serial number. It’s in amazing condition for it’s age, having being owned by two OAP’s since it was new. I don’t suppose it’s had much use. I got three wardrobes, a 6 month old fridge, and this washer for £75 the lot, so I really am not complaining. The washer can sit in the garage as a spare until I need it.
