ParticipantBeko DCU8230 condensor dryer not heating , when first tested it stat was faulty so replaced it , also has red reset button but was not tripped also tested fine , Element tested fine and within range . Also checked float micro switch and also fine . I’m assuming machine must have overheated to trigger TOC . inspected board but no damage present . Thinking a relay on board may be at fault am I correct in assuming this , are is there something else I have failed to check . Condenser was dirty and partially blocked so this probably caused it to overheat. Thanks Darren

have you checked the ntc on the heater. if you have a hotpoint heater on from a wm series around swop the wires as a quick test
plug it on and make sure it cant touch anything and see if it heats. if yes change elementcommon fault

Took NTC and and red button Stat out of the circuit and bridged the connections , run the dryer for a few minutes but element not heating , but element testing fine just over 30 ohms . Original NTC had gone open ciruit so thought it was an easy case of swapping for one of same value but must be something else. . Thanks Darren

you cant short the ntc out as it still wont work. value has to be within a range. too high or too low it wont heat for safety reasons
your post reads 2 ways. at the top it says you shorted NTC but at the bottom you seem to say you swapped it Which ??
get an old one off a Hotpoint heater and plug that on. I carry one in my bag for that purpose

Change the pcb make sure you order correct part as the pcb can look vertical identical and the toc this will sort the problem

Think its definitely the PCB heating element
Reset button TOC . And at front of machine
NTC all testing within range . Took a volt reading with machine plugged in getting 240v OK. But readings from board to heating element connector 14v so something on the board gone . ThanksAugust 23, 2016 at 6:23 pm #440332bazza500

Check that the dryer is not reversing back and forward too frequently. If it is then there is an earth fault confusing the board and this results in no heat. I have had the mains suppressor cause this fault.
A simple insulation test will rule this out.
