I have a Leisure electric cooker LEVC54W. After looking at various trouble shooting guides I decided the heating element in the bottom oven has gone. Unscrewed the panel inside the cooker to reveal the element and the fan but it looks like I have to access the element from the back as it does not have any screws just a plate with what looks like two bolts protruding from it.

I’m going to unscrew the back now to see if i can remove it from there.

Assuming I can and it is fairly straightforward to remove my question is while I am waiting for the replacement element to arrive can I safely continue to use the top oven?

In case it proves to be not so straightforward any tips much appreciated!

    Thankyou

Will I have to insulate the wires that were holding the element in the bottom oven? If so can I do this with electrical tape?
    Thankyou

Yes some you can only get to from the back of the oven. It’s fairly obvious once you get to it.

Yes the top oven will still be safe enough to use in the meantime.

If the wiring has not been touched then no, you won’t need to insulate the terminals. If they have been you’d better.

While replacing the heating element the cooker should be removed from the mains supply so, no insulation required while there’s no power to it.
