Morning folk on the white goods.
The wifey and I are going to replace our second hand washing machine as the pump has ceased, it’s not big enough and we aren’t a huge fan of the controls.

    Ideas please…

    Ideal 9kg+ in size.
    Freestanding.
    Quick 30 min wash.
    Must be white.
Digital display showing time remaining on wash.

It will probably get overloaded at least every other wash as I live with women whom struggle to grasp the concept after having it explained many times, so many times in fact that I’ll never mention it again or get a divorce.

Budget was going to be 300 but could be extended to 500 if the machine will last.

We have considered the extended warranty option as the last new one we purchased lasted 20 mth with a 2 year warranty. Nobody answered the phone and I got bored and my brother in law gave us his old one. But at 6pcm it breaks my heart.

    Things we have looked at:

    Bosch WAT28370GB Washing Machine | 9kg | ao.com
    http://ao.com/product/wat28370gb-bosch- … 234-1.aspx

    http://ao.com/best/washing-machines

We have considered paying slightly more to purchase from John Lewis for a better warranty also and the extended warranty looks cheap at 95 pounds.

I like the look of the LG ones and Siemens but seem to be a little price strong for our budget. Especially as it will be abused…

    Thanks guys.

    Hi

If you the new machine is going to be abused as you say it might be I would not go for a 9kg as if as you say it is going to be overfilled the nine would probably have 10kg and even over in it, not good if you want it to last. The ladies of the house should have a read of this on load sizes may help.

There is only one machine out there and that’s the Miele range. The WDA101 7kg (not a nine I know) is a great machine, well built, two year warranty, only downside is only Miele will probably be able to repair it. Another good read here on best make of machine.
