    Hi All,
Seem to have a problem where due to the mother in law switching off the oven/ stove at the the circuit breaker every day, the oven wont accept a time adjustment anymore when it is switched on.

The time 12:00 flashes, as well as a flashing light on bottom right hand corner above the clock symbol, as though it is waiting for the time to be set.
However the round knob used to adjust time backwards or forwards produces no effect. pressing any other button has no effect either and the clock time does not change from 12:00.
So my thinking it could be one of two issues.
Faulty timer? or possibly the knob that controls time adjustment is not working?
In theory the manual says it if you dont adjust time within 5 seconds, it will stop flashing, and accept 12:00 as the default time.
I have tried switiching off for 30 seconds, when it comes back on, it flashes the following very briefly before any time is presented:
131 on one screen for 0.5 seconds, then it flashes 48 1 on another, both for about 0.5 seconds, then time changes to 12:00. and no further changes. ie it just keeps flashing, without accepting that time.

Any advice please?and thanks in advance.

It does sound like a clock or input board issue but, there’s slews of variants so to look it up and see what the score is we will need the PNC or product number from the rating plate.

Believe it or not, that gets me down to three…

    944185452 00 20080225 B5741-5-B UK R08
    944185452 01 20091002 B5741-5-B
    944185452 02 20100226 B5741-5-B

    Fun this isn’t it? 😉

The clock on the first one, just randomly, is about the £70 plus VAT etc mark. It is down as an input module but it’s hard to tell as it’s a blob on the diagram the looks like a clock.

Re: AEG Clock wont set – AEG B5741-5

    Hi K,
Would it help if I told you it was purchased in June 2008.
Looking at your numbers, it seems to be a date between the PNC and model number.
    possibly a date of introduction?

So a logical assumption would make it the first model?
I suspect the timer replacement is simply a matter of opening the case, and unplugging old module and replacing? if that is the case, might be worth getting hold of a timer?

    Thanks

Yes, correct that’s the production dates.

The clock is this one, sorry there’s no image and not a lot of info, it’s all I have on it.
