ParticipantI believe my dishwasher Hotpoint Aquarius DF62 is on its last legs.
I have to take it apart again (third time since 2012) to see if I can keep it alive. Water fills sometimes, not other times. Washing cycle not working at all with no water spray after manual filling. And a slight smell of burning too!Anyway, can those in the know suggest a particular make and model of dishwasher that is likely to be well-made, long lasting and cost around £350.
My current dishwasher is “only” 12 years old.

You will be very disappointed with the modern machines in comparison as their life expectancy is 3 – 5 yrs at best. Bosch carry a 2 yr guarantee so that’s half its life covered. Shop around for its big sister Siemens and many of those models carry a 5 yr warranty before carting it to the skip. All other brands will give you some satisfaction coupled with trepidation as to when they go belly up!
They don’t make ’em like they used to. 😉

Beko DFN05X10W (white from £189) Beko DFN05X10S (silver from £199)
Beko DFN28R21W (white from £259) Beko DFN28R31X (stainless steel from £329)I would always suggest Beko as a great product for the price, the first 2 listed are knob controlled, second 2 are push button with display.
Best of luck getting 12 years out of any product nowadays, my Hotpoint dishwasher is only 20 years old, i’m thinking of putting in a new Beko in its place purely because the other one looks old, works ok still though.September 17, 2016 at 9:33 am #441033elbee

Thanks for your replies.
I was thinking of Bosch and will look at Siemans.

Yes Beko are pretty good these days and have raised their game since the scares of the tumble dryers and fridge freezers catching fire. I’m not aware of any dishwasher problems from them though there are loads of daft users around that turn on their dishwasher at night then go to bed, or worse still turn them on and go to work. You can only make a product so safe but ultimately then user then takes control and that’s when the problems begin.

Value for money wise I would also side with Beko.
I installed a fully integrated for a customer this week that only cost him £209 from Boots online inc. delivery.
The parts alone to repair his Siemens D/W would have cost more than that!Steve.
