    Hi

I’ve a hotpoint tcym750c6puk that’s started to occasionally trip the rcd. Any ideas. Condenser is clean, should I check for soggy fluff at the back getting near the element

P.s.it’s had the safety recall carried out.

Thanks in advance for any advice .

    Regards

    Danny

Not connected with that issue then?

Just out of interest, how confident are you toward using this dryer, and did you feel the safety recall modification would ensure no likelyhood your dryer would catch fire anytime since that vital modification?

I don’t know the finer details about the recall however the hse would need to sign off on this mod and there’s no way they’d let the manufacturer away with something sub standard that would still expose the risk of a potential fire.

HSE have nothing whatsoever to do with the safety recall, that was entirely a internal decision by Whirlpool. Whilst I respect your confidence in the modification I would advise caution when operating this appliance.

Back on topic I would suspect that the heating element is the most likely source of the problem causing the RCD to trip. 🙁
