For Americans who just can’t acquire too much stuff, Maytag has introduced a beverage-vending machine for the home.
The SkyBox can dispense 64 cans or 32 bottles, including long necks, and is equipped with child-safety locks to keep kids out of the grown-up drinks. The front panel illuminates like a commercial vending machine and can be customized with the logo of a professional baseball, hockey or football team, a college team or a NASCAR driver. Customizable panels that allow owners to use their own photos will be available soon, the company says.
The machine is available in a black or platinum finish. The refrigerated unit can sit on an optional SkyBase (cq) storage stand.
SkyBoxes are available at Home Depot stores, Maytag Stores and Maytag Home Appliance Centers and online at www.skyboxbymaytag.com. The combination of a refrigerated unit, storage base and sports panel kit retails for $607.
