The owner says that the washer works fine but other times goes to sleep, sometimes doesn’t wash at all.

I checked the wirings and all seems intact and nothing loose.

I noticed when I spun the drum by hand, it showed some friction. Some free play then shuddering, I thought something stuck inside so I removed the belt and checked the drum, it spun freely and the motor too. I noticed the motor casing was very warm to the touch, previously I set it to spin to see how it got on. I am not aware that motor can get hot after being in action. That hasn’t been my experience with brush motors. But this as being inverter motor then maybe it does get hot?

The machine was bought as graded 2 years ago, the frame and lid were damaged and I am wondering if the damage may have caused premature wear of the motor if it was dropped or fell off from height?

Unless I am barking up on the wrong tree?

Never changed a Brushless motor yet. The juddering and stiffness sound usual. If they start getting Error codes in the 50’s or 70’s then it may be a motor module fault. These appliances are very sensitive to small heavy loads causing out of balance problems though.

Thanks, there’s no error codes. I tried to determine the kind washing load they were doing, they swear it’s the usual washing load and nothing too taxing. Very puzzling that is… I can’t work out why the owner says it went blank, I couldn’t find loose connections. Maybe next time I will throw in the towels (no pun intended) to see how it responded to the load rather than empty load.
