I have a Hotpoint RLA36G larder fridge recently it got colder and colder with some liquids freezing. I thought no problem the thermostat must be faulty replaced with a genuine makers part fault still remains the motor runs all the time and frost is developing on the inner back wall at the top. Both exterior sides of the fridge are very cold to touch the cooling grid at the back is warm to touch at the top but cool nearer the bottom. Anybody any ideas its only 30 months old with the two year warranty just ran out 🙁

From what you say, it’s only really the thermostat that could cause that to happen.

Are you sure the stat phial is correctly installed, it’s not kinked or broken as if it were, that’s what’d happen.

If it is frosting near the top and not even over the wet wall inside the fridge it could also be low on Gas.

It would not be cooling down enough at the bottom of the fridge evaporator to turn the stat off.

This would then lead to it running all the time and it getting too cold in the fridge.
