ParticipantAny Whirlpool experts out there ?
Exact model ADP4549WH 851176310871
At the start of a cycle, the program lights change with the selector knob normally, start light flashes normally until start button pressed then light stays on as expected, the Dishwasher pumps out as normal then fills as normal.
So I’m waiting for the motor to kick in but instead there is an awkward 20 seconds or so of nothing then it pumps out completely then shuts down with all lights on panel going out 😳
I checked base no signs of any leaking anywhere in fact it’s like new. There is no aquastop fitted anyway.
I look at the motor and it has the little digital plug on it so I am at a loss at how to test that but I am leaning towards the module but I know it could be a motor.
Would anyone be good enough to point me in the right direction please ?October 3, 2016 at 10:38 pm #441466electrofix

from what i can see of the motor on connect its just a standard overgrown askol drain pump. as long as the coil in the motor is ok its pretty easy to test.
the motor has an iron core so if you pick up a screw driver and touch the iron core you will feel the magnetism when its onits a bit worrying how this fault shows, but i have 1 idea. it looks from connects pictures that the timer is in a box behind the control knob, and, i am assuming the timer has a capacitor power supply and not switch mode
so
i think what is happening is this. you power up and set the programme, the pump starts, then stops and the unit fills, then it tries to start the main motor and that needs more power than is available and the timer crasheswhat i cant figure out is why it pumps out. Does it start to fill again or just stops
do the light come back on ?Dave

Morning Dave ! In answer to your question when it pumps out and subsequently dies, the appliance needs to be switched off before it can be restarted where it will do exactly the same thing again – never anything different

The motor is the favourite. The pcb monitors the current drawn by the motor to control the fill level. If the motor is seized it will abort the program
