    Hi folks!

Newbie, so pleased I found you, just the ticket! 😀

I have a great fridge, Hotpoint RLA80 Fridge without Freezer Part, works a treat as can put produce in it from my smallholding!
Can’t find any reference to it when looking for a new thermostat! Ordered a thermostat, via Amazon, got the wrong one! Gave details as on fridge RLA80P, thermostat had more terminals on and in a different position! the company insisted it was the right thermostat for my fridge – think they meant fridge freezer that has the same number! Refused to replace or refund, were adamant it was the correct part! 😯 Amazon couldn’t help, was not sold by them!

Contacted Hotpoint via twitter DM, after several messages they said if it was the part for RLA80 it was the right part! Different terminals!

Conclusion, this model is old, came out in early 2000’s and no longer made. 😥 Being 21 and 50 birthdays I’m used to keeping my white goods and looking after them! We used to have to know how to do a lot of basic stuff when I was young! Very few service people about back then! ! It is possible that the thermostat I was sent can be wired up and will serve the purpose – need to know if it’s possible and where wires go as no photo! Would be delighted, and extremely grateful, to take instructions from a kind person who knows!

The fridge is useful for hanging a lamb, or 2, in when there done for the freezer, strings of sausages after I’ve made them. Son visits and takes home bits for his freezers! 😆 Missing the fridge a lot! Thanks for your time and for reading my post! Have a nice week end, it’s POET’S day tomorrow! 🙂

It will need a photo of the old stat with the wires connected to it and a picture of the new stat to advise.

How many wires is going to the old stat is it 2 wires plus an earth.
