Keymasterany advice please
when filling the water rises above the float switch chamber and out of the little hole in the chamber and then shuts off the inlet valve safety. When ive seen this on other dishwashers its usually a blockage and the water cant get in to the tub quick enough so it overfills the chamber. but i have checked for blockages and changed the chamber. Im woundering if it is the timer not bringing in the wash motor soon enough.

The chamber should fill three times, each time the water cascades over onto the micro switch rocker, the feed is switched from the inlet valve to the timer for the duration of the syphoning of the water from the ‘fill chamber’ . You should be able to hear the timer motor running when the micro switch rocker trips over. The timer should advance far enough during the three fills to move from fill to wash action.
I have had breaks in the wiring harness near the door hinge from the micro switch to timer causing this fault.April 12, 2005 at 8:24 am #131321Ray9500

Every time i’ve had this fault, it turned out to be the hose from the chamber to the sump. Some have rotted internally so look normal on the outside but have a reduced bore inside. Might be worth a look 😉

Very true! More usually it is fat deposit within the hose that restricts the water flowing into the tub thus creating an overflow in the metering tank.
But also….do check to make sure the inlet nozzle at the top of that metering tank is not scaled up, because as it fills the tank a small percentage of that water pours down the overflow chamber and direct into the tub from the side vent allowing too much water in 😉

Had one this morning, and yes it was the chamber to sump hose full of gunk.
Easy job for a change.
