ParticipantHi
I have a Stoves EFA600H which was repaired a few years back.
The issue I have and it has been like this since it was repaired is as follows;oven heats and works fine for as long as you want.
once you have cooked your food and turn the temp dial and function dial to off the metal front of the oven gets extremely hot to touch and then the oven cuts out until the temp drops to around 100f.you can turn the temp to 0 but keep the function knob on oven and it doesnt cut off.
once the temp drops to around 100f you can then turn it off as normal.I suspect the engineer bypassed some kind of thermal cut off but dont know much about electrical items!
I am moving house and the new people are certain to complain about it once they see the oven turns off unless they do the process i mentioned above.
any idea if this would be a easy cheap fix or am I better trying to find a second hand oven that fits?
thanks in advance
Gary

It sounds like the cooling fan that should run for awhile after you turn it off may be faulty or jammed so it cuts off on the thermal cut out.

happy friday
I took the cover off the oven tonight and the cooling fan which is fitted at the rear of the unit spins as normal.
it seemed to suck air in which I am not sure is correct or not..
I think whatever kicks the fan in once the knobs are turned to the off position is broken/faulty.does anyone know if there are any wiring diagrams for this model anywhere?
I did a google search but came up empty handed..I am in two minds whether to get it fixed or not as the oven works if you turn it to stand by and wait for it to cool down before turning off..
not sure what the legalities are of this when selling a home as it does work as I said above..

Well for the cost of fitting a part to cure it easily it would make sense to buy one of these….

You will need to declare any known faults of fixtures and fittings on the ‘TA6 Property Information Form’ when selling your home. Including faulty ovens, extractors, taps that dont work, faulty cisterns etc.

Thanks for the reply Martin.
I would like to get it fixed but have no idea where the existing cooling fan module is within the oven?
I dont remember seeing a board like the one in the link you send me.
The cooling fan was wired directly to the program dial at the front of the oven.
Are there any pics or diagrams which would help me with this?cheers
Gary
