ParticipantHi,
I have a Hotpoint BHWD 129 UK (2010 ish), it broke so I’ve been trying to work out what the problem is!
If I run a spin cycle it briefly pumps out and then stops.
If I run a rinse cycle it briefly adds water then pauses and eventually throws up an error about not filling.I have checked the fill and drain pipework and is seems fine, this lead me to suspect the pressure switch.
I removed the switch and sitting on the bench none of the 3 contacts measure closed all possibilities are open circuit. Blowing gently into the switch I get a click and the left hand two pins (11 & 14) short to less than one ohm. So as the right hand pin (16) doesn’t appear to do anything I’m suspecting something isn’t quite right.
I was just hoping someone would be able to jump in and confirm this or otherwise before I get a replacement that’s not needed.
If a mod could also possibly confirm this is the correct part:

4 different models of this machine with different pressure switches. Blowing into the switch, even gently can damage the switch but unless you blow quite hard you will not trip the other switch which is the overfill level.
Full model number, serial number and commercial code from the label inside the door needed to ID.
Can also be due to blockages in the pressure hose chamber, poor connections etc.
Pressure switch is cheap enough to take a punt on though as long as you fit the correct one. 😉

Excellent thanks, this label seems to have the most info on it:

Broken wire to the dryer ntc. Usually where the wires are cable tied to the cabinet.

Hi,
Many thanks to iadom for helping to work out how to test my pressure switch and confirm it was fine and Gery85 for your suggestion.
I thought I would post back for anyone else with similar symptoms.
The eventual clue was that the drum never turned. So as the motor controller is part of the main control board I decided to pull that apart. There’s a big heatsink on this board so that’s probably where any fault would be (no visible charred components) and yes testing showed one of the power transistors had gone short circuit (STGP10NC60KD) replaced this (49p) and the machine has been working well ever since.
Richard.
