Hi all I have a beko freezer
model num TZDA504FW its a standalone freezer

The freezer has started to defrost I’m thinking thermostat as its the cheap option, the problem is where is it located! I presume its in the top panel inside the freezer but how do I access it ( 3 screws front top by vents and 2 screws on the back panel) how does the panel come out i.e. does it slide out, pull down, unclip? the thermostat control is a small pcb behind the knob so I need to find thermostat.

    Regards

    Re: beko freezer thermostat

If it has a small PCB behind the Knob it does not have a thermostat.

If the compressor is not running and the freezer sounds silent.

Then it will be a main PCB Fault this may be in a plastic box at the back of the freezer or behind the control panel.

If the compressor is running and hot and freezer is not cooling then it will be the compressor or gas.

Thanks for your quick reply Bob
The compressor can be heard and when you open the door you can hear what sounds like a fan running which is the same sort of noise when its was freezing the food.
So would you say try the PCB inside the freezer ! (yes the other PCB is in a box at rear)

    Re: beko freezer thermostat

    See my last post.

If the compressor is running the PCB ok.

It sounds like the compressor is not pumping or it has lost the gas.

Not a cheep or DIY job.

    Re: beko freezer thermostat

It depends if it has a leak or the compressor is faulty.

It could be anything from £100 to £200

    Re: beko freezer thermostat

    Thanks Bob for reply
I have phoned manufacture and took out the repair plan for £14 p/m which is a bit steep! but in total £168 for the year which would be about same as repair
it will be guaranteed for 12 months (which is the same as if I bought a new one)
    Regards
