ParticipantModel is Hoover Dryer De luxe.
Attached photo.(the filter in inside and at the back of the dryer)
I cannot get the cover off to clean the lint .2 fingers and thumb fit nicely into the 3 circular holes in the cover ,but it just moves the whole thing around rather than coming off.
Any ideas how to remove the cover, anyone?
It’s a real hassle to keep shoving an eyeshadow brush in there to clean it and the filter mesh now has a hole due to this.
Also what would be good to easily repair the hole in the mesh?
Thanks for any help.November 17, 2016 at 9:17 am #442888electrofix

should turn one third turn and come off
push slightly, turn one third and it should pull off
if it does not it could mean the boss at the back of the drum has somehow worked loose and is going round as well

Agreed, the fixing often loosens but a push in and twist anticlockwise (very quickly) will always release. Once off the spring and boss unit can easily be tightened.

Thanks Dave and Martin.Worked perfectly.I pressed on it with my weight behind it and turned it very quickly anti-clockwise and it came out.it has gone back on easily and seems to come off easily now.
Now I can look into repairing the mesh filter

have not got the model of your dryer but I think all the filters are the same so looked up one at random

if you post the model of your machine can check part number

That does look like the filter.Havent managed to get a model number.dryer is stacked on top of washing machine,in a tight space so cannot get access to the back to read the label.
on the front it says Hoover dryer de luxe.i will see if there is a way to try and get a mirror on a stick and a torch to see if I can get any views of the back of the machine. -
