ParticipantMachine is electrically dead… as ‘though power is off.
Never missed a beat in 8 years, sounds (sounded!) good, now no power.
No obvious clues to a novice looking inside.
Power socket working, Fuse OK, Cable circuit working as far as suppressor, cable from suppressor to PCB ok. I cannot check out the PCB so will probably have to call engineer in… but before I do:
Could a faulty suppressor cause this?
Has anyone other suggestions please?

although its possible in practice its more likely to be a board fault

Thanks for the quick reply Dave, I now have to decide whether it is worth buying a new suppressor simply to rule that small possibility out, and… is there something significant that has caused the board to fail, or just old age (the board, not me!)

because they want to, spike on the mains etc
sometimes its the board power supply that fails so the board may be repairable but a new board will be £100 or so. cant find a listing for it also there are 12 machines with the same model so I would need the pnc number (like 91452262906) to narrow it down

Thank you very much Dave, I think I am going to go ahead and purchase one from Spares4Appliances which seems by far the best value.

Thanks Don, I have emailed the spares dept (for attention of Dave!) and await a reply.
Must say that I am impressed by the help given on this forum, I am an enthusiastic (and elderly) DIY person who works well within limitations and appreciative of any advice offered. -
