Hi I would like some advice please on my tumble dryer.
A Creda Sensair Automatic. Eco dry Series
    Spec: 37645E. SER: 10100265. 5kg load.
Its not drying the washing properly and taking a awfully long time.
    It has 3 Drying Programmes.
0-100 minute timer for self setting how long you want it to dry with a 20 minute cool cycle.
2 Eco settings: 1st a large greenE within a green circle, for large/heavy loads.
2nd a small green e within a green circle, for smaller/ delicate items.
They both detects the amount of dryness and then switches to the cooling cycle to finish.
Does this dryer have 3 heaters or 1 heater.
Looking from the back of the dryer, the right side I think has 2 heaters, one above the other. These get warm to very warm but not hot. On the left hand side there is 1, this does not seem to get as hot as it should.
This happens on both the self setting timer and the large green E cycle. The large green E cycle will also switch to the cool cycle before the clothes are dry, so they are all still very damp.
If I use the small green e cycle for drying, the left hand side of the dryer gets hot, but flicks to the cool cycle before the clothes are dry. Can you help or advise me please.

    ?????.

This machine has the standard Creda heating element assembly. A single unit with two elements. It sits directly central above the fan. I sounds as though you are trying to check this machine by running it with that back off, something you should not do as the elements will not work correctly like this.

A resistance test on both elements should tell you if they are faulty. The dampness sensing components of this machine are completely obsolete but it is at the very least 20 years old and was only in production for 2 years.

Thank you for your reply iadom, I’m a woman and not brave 😯 enough to try that with the back off, I just put my hand on the various areas of the back cover and could feel the heat that way.
Any suggestions, I rather like this dryer and would very much like to have it repaired. How do I find a reliable and honest electrician.
