    HI
I have a Hotpoint HAG60 double oven cooker. I haven’t been able to use the grill when I had my annual gas check the engineer said my thermocouple had gone so I contacted Hotpoint who sent out and engineer to it as soon as he came in turned it on it worked straight away he did this 3 or 4 times checked the thermos couple was working fine so off he when I tried nothing and my son tried it. .When you turn the Grill knob and ignite it and wait for the said amount of time it just goes out ive even tried it for a minute and longer same result .I cant really ring Hotpoint again as he said its working fine am I missing something? But its the same as my previous cooker but a newer model

Well the symptoms you describe do indicate a faulty thermcouple. Holding the control knob in for more than 15 seconds should be more than enough for the unit to operate. You’ve held it for 60 seconds must surely mean it is faulty.

Make sure the control knob for the grill isn’t faulty. Pull off the control knob and operate the tap with a pair of pliers.

I’ve had an engineer out to my cooker today and I’m pleased to announce I’m not going mad lol .On sheet says Work done T-couple loose on valve remade connection and retested working fine. Why didn’t the first guy look instead of just saying that’s working fine. Thank you for your comments
