Hi all, I have a hotpoint aquarius tcm580 condenser dryer that gets hot for a couple of minutes then stays cold for the rest of the cycle, I checked the stats by the element for continuity and both where good, I cant find any other stats on the machine, the element and stats where changed a couple of months ago and was working fine till now. any ideas? many thanks mike.

There is another thermostat situated in the drum front surround, not easy to access though. Only used on certain models, would need your full serial number to verify.

Has this machine had the fire safety recall modification done?

hi thanks for the reply, serial number is 010186137,i couldn’t see a thermostat at the front, but I only undid the top of the front for a peek inside, hope I don’t have to take the front off, but needs must if theres a stat in there too. just checked it needs modding so will get that filled out tonight.

Produced in Oct 2010, the front stat was removed in July 2013 so your machine does have this thermostat, it fits into the top of the plastic surround at the front of the drum.

    Part number C00095536.

Not had problems on this model but this stat did occasionally fail in this way on the previous model of condenser dryer, that is cut out after a few minutes.
