    Hi

Unmodified, so that could be the issue… (I’ve had numerous agencies call me to try and organise the mod but they NEVER leave a contact number and the guy I spoke to could only offer me the next week which we couldn’t do – I’m not sure it should be done at their convenience… there’s no one I can call apparently… but I digress…)

It’s been getting worse but now the dryer just trips on start up, I’ve cleaned filters / emptied, is there *anything* else I can do short of getting someone in?

No, just wait until they do the mod. They will repair any faults for free while doing the mod. If it’s sub-contractors doing the work, they will do the mod then inform Hotpoint of the fault.

its a condensor dryer so i would guess water is the problem

    unplug it !!

turn the unit around and remove the heater box. if water trickles out thats you problem. it can get in the heater box if you dont empty the water and it overfills

DOH, found it now, showing my age, I was entering CND in Partfinder, I guess a lot of you younger ones won’t remember CND. 😀

First produced in 2014, surprised it’s still on sale.
