ParticipantHi All,
I have been to this machine tonight with a broken door handle. I fitted a new door handle kit but now the machine won’t work. If I flick the door switch over with my screwdriver it works straight away but when you shut the door it won’t go. The door does latch but it just won’t start. Its a washer dryer so has the heat guard in front of the glass, I tried it with this removed and it still didn’t work.
I then tried it again without the glass bowl in and then it worked ok.
An hour and a half later I had to give up.
Anyone had this before?
Cheers,

sounds like the spring has not been fitted the right way around.

Hi,
Spring is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in the right way. The door does shut perfectly and latches fine its just not letting the machine start. It seems like the glass and plastic guard are just stopping the new handle coming back far enough to operate the door lock.
Thanks,

Sure the spring tension is enough? Did you try the other spring?
Logic dictates it has to be something to do with the handle kit one way or another.December 23, 2016 at 12:36 pm #443988ray.t

Hi,
Yes I tried another complete door handle kit and its still the same.
The latch has good tension and it sounds just as it should when you shut the door.
It seems like something is just stopping the latch going over as far as it should, I’m sure it can only be the smallest amount but enough to stop the thing working.
Cheers

Thought I should update this just in case anyone is using the search button.
I tried 2 new door handles and 2 interlocks and still it wouldn’t work.
I took the interlock apart and shaved a very small amount off the opening that the lock pops out through and its now working fine.
Maybe not an ideal fix but the only way I could get it to work again.Cheers,

Was it a genuine part I’ve had a problem with some pattern parts causing the same fault.

Hi,
It was a genuine door handle kit. I tried another 2 interlocks, pattern ones but they made no difference and they were the same as the original.August 15, 2017 at 9:58 am #443992Steven

I have had a few of these recent handle jobs generally all ok straight forward though the last one thought quick job 7pm still on it!
Replaced the handle kit only genuine one C00259035 the door open and closes fine.
You turn machine on close door, hear a faint click from the door lock light still flashing does start.
Give it a firm slam and it starts, when finished door clicks flashing light but door won’t open?
Have to again a little thump and it releases.Tried interlock exactly the same, adjusted door glass plastic cover, notice it has flat side against the lock thought it was that, trimmed a bit off the frame door lock still jamming not releasing.
I can’t explain why its doing this!
Its built in and socket behind no isolator so not sure if there is something more?
Door seal lip or some distortion of the door trim?
You shouldn’t have to slam it! 😕Steven

Did you try making the hole in the interlock a bit bigger?
I have had another one since my last post on this and it was the only way I could get it to work.Ray

No havent done the lock enlargement!
Have shaved a bit of the trim as I know the some of the vestel machines had similar issue which wouldn’t allow the pecker to drop over to the lock made no difference.
Yes tried the original pecker and spring and new one made no difference. -
