hotpoint LFT288A problem

Hi All, I could do with a point in the right direction regarding a Hotpoint LFT228A.
It was close to the end of a wash cycle, it had just drained and was about to do the last rinse when there was a thud type noise a long pause then continuous beeping.

I did a bit of research and it said there should be an error code but all I get is the wash programme number displayed and the beeping. I’ve turned it off at the mains, I’ve drained water from the sump but it still refuses to fill.

So at the moment it displays as if it’s fine I can select a wash programme and turn it on, the pump drains as normal and then there is the pause but usually when the water fills, there is the beeping but no error code. So any ideas, it’s only about 3 years old. That initial thud did sound like the water pipes knocking when they are shut off quickly….I’m wondering if it’s that smart valve on the inlet?, but why no error code????
