    Hi Folks,

I’m having an issue with this washing machine in that the tub wont stay secured.

The original repair was to replace the gear assembly, which is relatively straight-forward, barring some rusted out screws for the top tub ring.

After replacing the gear assembly, I replace the tub and the tub locking nut with it’s associated wavy spring washer. This is where the problems have started.

I’ve tried replacing the nut (it’s a 38mm job) and the spring washer twice but the tub still works its way loose after a couple of cycles.

Before anyone suggests tightening, I am tightening the nut to ~120Nm which is as much as my impact wrench will go. If I were to go higher, I would fear de-threading the agitator post.

Is this something others have encountered?

    Hi.
Found the above ref your LG top loader. Not at all sure, because the terminology is different which bit do you mean, presume for “tub” you mean the drum -bit that spins. So tell us which nut is giving you grief e.g. the rotor nut? I take it you remembered to refit the spacer diagram part K030 the spacer with 2 flats under the impellor? Or do you mean the drum securing washer diagram part K040 and its washer? K064 spacer gasket missing? Something somewhere sounds as though it is missing on reassembly providing the parts replaced are the right ones which seems unlikely that they wouldn`t be wrong. Sorry to be vague and cast any doubts, as far as known these machines are not imported in to UK so my experience is zilch but thought I`d have a bash at it.
