Got roped into moving daughter’s existing washing machine from kitchen to (integral) garage and putting a new Bosch dishwasher in its place. All the fixed plumbing was already in place, as was a well made plinth in the garage.

The water connection in the kitchen was in a really awkward place so I used the existing washing machine hose for the dishwasher.

When I came to install the washing machine using the dishwasher hose I realised the hose was a thin plastic rigid hose. It didn’t occur to me that this might be an issue until I ran the machine and the hose vibrated on the back of the machine as it spun. Fixed this by relocating the hose slighty but I’m wondering if I’m storing up trouble using the plastic hose on a washing machine?

No thoughts? Will the rigid hose survive the vibration from the washing machine?

Washing machine hose’s are flexible for a good reason.

Any movement on a non-flexible hose will eventually give problems.

I would change it as soon as you can as hose’s are not that expensive and cheaper than getting a bad leak.
