ParticipantHi all,
I am looking to purchase a fridge freezer with a twin compressor. Having searched these forums – I learned that there aren’t many / any brands with twin compressors.
After a lot of time I discovered that Servis FD91185SS model does come with a dual compressor. Please could someone advice on this brand – Ideally I would have preferred a Liebherr or Miele but none seem to be currently producing a twin compressor fridge freezer.
Many Thanks

That’s the first dual compressor machine I’ve seen in many years.
Problem is, it’s Vestel. They own the Servis brand name now so service and parts down the road are not a rosy picture.

Learned something new re Vestel ( never having heard of Vestel before either ) owning Servis. Sorry for being ignorant but any reason why service and parts could be difficult to procure down the line ? I am / was keen on getting fridge freezer with dual compressors before they become an extinct species 🙂 How does Servis rate from the reliability perspective ( compared to Hotpoint / Beko etc ) please ?
On Liebherr’s website http://www.myliebherr.co.uk/products/re … 48/cn-5113 they say that the CN 5113 has two compressors. I have been to our local Liebherr / Miele Stockist who has one of those in stock. It only had one compressor. The retailer called Liebherr and was told that that particular model used to come with two compressors but now comes with only one now ( probably to cut costs). The retailer suggested that I should go for a commercial fridge freezer if I want two compressors :).
Many Thanks

A Liebherr would be vastly superior to anything made by Vestel, even if it had ten compressors. 😉

OK thanks, will look out for a Liebherr one ( preferably with two compressors ) don’t mind buying a second hand one if necessary. If I can’t find one within a week we’ll choose a brand new Liebherr model that our budget (£ 1200 – £1400 ) allows, Any particular models you could / would recommend please ? We are after a free standing one preferably with No water or Ice dispensing Features.
Many Thanks

To be perfectly honest if that’s the criteria you’d be better to look for a tall larder and matching tall freezer.
Both you can get from Liebherr among others and that satisfies the requirement for a separate compressor in each if that’s the most important factor.

After much searching discovered that Liebherr SBS7212 has two compressors. Apparently it has now been discontinued – old stock is still available from some retailers. Luckily there is one not too far off from where we live – so will go and have a look over the weekend. Slightly over budget but for Liebherr I don’t mind going over budget 🙂

Unfortunately the Liebherr SBS7212 is too wide to fit in it’s allloted space. I would appreciate it very much if someone could recommend a model number for a combination of Tall Larder + Matching Tall Freezer preferably by Liebherr. Max width of combined units should be less than 100 cm. The units I have seen seem to be around 55cm width ( each ).
Thanks

I suspect that you won’t get them to fit inside that width, 55cm or 60cm wide is likely the slimmest that you’ll get.
