Hi. We had an engineer come out yesterday as we noticed the freezer part of our 6 year old samsung American fridge freezer wasn’t as cold. The outcome was that it was un repairable due to a fault with the compressed gases? Is this something that is common? It is out of its warranty now so there isn’t anything samsung will do. The shocked he couldn’t do anything as it is in perfect condition apart from that! Is it worth getting a second opinion?
Re: 6 year old samsung fridge freezer diagnosed as un repair
Yes this was done, and the outcome was not good! I just assumed it would be a problem with the thermostat? There is a fault which means by the time the gases get from the fridge to the freezer they are working overtime to compensate and the freezer will just stop working. At the moment we have our freezer at -25 otherwise stuff would start to defrost.

Hi
What was done ?? as i asked a couple of questions ?. Did he remove everything from inside the freezer ?. Did he check the fan motor ?. Did he test the heater ?. Did he put gauges onto the pipework and try to regal ?.
