ParticipantJust wondering do any of ye have an integrated fridge. I have a full height larder fridge. When the door is gently closed shut all is fine but if the door is closed with even a slight bit of force the door closes but bounces back open leaving it slightly ajar. This results in the door being left open for full days while we are at work etc. very frustrating…
Are the seals/door magnets not functioning properly in that they are not pulling the door shut and keeping it shut? I would have thought you should be able to slam a door shut on a fridge door and it would remain closed?
Any ideas what’s wrongl it’s a new fridge.
Many thanks

You need a set of hinges by the sound of it.
What machine is it and we should be able to tell you what ones?

If it’s new it ain’t going to be the hinges then.
I’d suggest in that case it’s something to do with the installation as it’s about all it can be really.

Thank you.
Am I being unrealistic in thinking that a fridge should be able to be closed with some small bit of force and still seal shut?
Could it be the weight of the door, surely thought the fridge is designed for that. I have checked that the fridge isnt set back in too far,
Maybe I just need to be gentle with it?

Some of them do have limits on the door weight that can be fitted but you’d need to check that in the installation instructions or with Hotpoint.
But if the door’s too heavy or misaligned then you could easily get what you’re reporting.

Check whether the fridge is vertical or not. If it’s even slightly leaning forward you will get this, better to have it leaning slightly backwards if anything. Also as has been stated above, don’t put big heavy items (today’s huge milk bottles for example) in the door. Check to see if the hinge fixings are tight, especially if the door’s been changed over. Cheers.

remove the decor door ,if the door shuts on its own when you push it shut then its the weight of the decor door ,check you installation instructions to see the max weight of the decor door
