    Hi I have a beko wm5140w washer when starting it fills with water to right level stops then spins really fast for 5 seconds stops for 3 min then dose it again really fast spinning have reset and draind water out and dose same thing every time have checked the wires to motor and all seem in good condition what would cause this to happen please help

    at the back of the motor is a little generator called a tacho. its job is to tell the electronics what the speed the motor is so it can control it.

    this unit is at the rear of the motor and consists of a coil with a magnet in the middle that is attached to the armature. my guess is the magnet has broken and is not turning so the module thinks the motor is not moving and keeps accelerating it

    if it is broken its a new motor

    Although I’m not sure how to fit one, are they machine pressed onto the motor ?

    yes it just presses on carefully
