ParticipantHi
Can anyone help me as I want to investigate all possible options before I have to fork out for a new dishwasher.
I have a Hotpoint LFT 114. Recently it has beenplaying up. Firstly, it would drain but about 5 minutes later it would beep at me and all 4 lights on the control panel would flash. by all four I mean all four wash cyle lights. I would open the door switch off then back on and shut the door and it would complete the full cycle.
However, now, when I put it on a cycle it would run normally, or would thought, for about 20 mins then beep at me if finished. This is around 40 minutes less than it should be and when I open the dishes are damp and cold and the tablet is sat on top of the cutlery. It seems that the cycle is cutting very short and not heating the hot water.
I trust this makes sense and someone can help me :eeek: 😥

The heater itself is very prone to failure on Indesit dishwashers, it is part of the main circulation pump on this model, can also be due to electronic failure, also quite a common fault.
A resistance and continuity test of the heating element with the mains plug removed is the first step.

Thank you, how would I do that and what tools do i need or is it an engineer thing?

TBH, your question does lead me to think it might be engineer time. You would need to access and identify the heating element from underneath then test it electrically with a megger or suitable multimeter.
