Hi so my Bosch Exxcel 1400 express brushes have finally gone ( only took them about11-12 years 😮 ) So do I order a genuine set or go after market at around a third of the price ?

    Thanks

Re: Carbon brushes genuine or copy

    Hi

If they have just gone then put genuine ones back in. That way you have a better chance that they will last longer and at the end of the day split the cost of the genuine ones over 10yrs and it works out at pence’s a year.

    Bosch no fault codes displayed

Hi my Exxcel 1400 express stopped turning on all programs but had no error codes coming up, so suspected either belt or brushes and found out brushed were well worn over 10 years old since new.

So would you say it was the brushes or anything else I could try, just disappointed that I didn’t get an error code up to help

You second thread on the same subject concludes that the carbons need replacing. As far as error codes are concerned though, many models of Bosch (even 10 year old vintage) do give error code indications. What you didn’t tell us was the all important model number (ENr number) shown inside the door and on the back panel.

If should have given an F:21 error code so, perhaps it needs more than just new brushes? The only way you’ll get the answer to that is when you change the brushes and it won’t work without carry out the ‘reset’ procedure.
