Hi – I have a beko pyrolitic oven (Bie2300xp) and I have a query about the electrical installation… owners manual says it should be connected to minimum of a 16a fuse which would suggest the oven should be connected to a higher rated supply rather than the standard 13a available at a plug… But the actual connector block at back of the oven looks like a standard 13a block and is not physically big enough to take a bigger cable…. any ideas ? Thanks
Your oven should not be connected to a 13 amp socket. It needs a dedicated supply and a 16amp MCB. Have you got a cooker point if so what is its rating at the consumer unit?
Just as I thought… I do have a dedicated supply think it has a 20a mcb. What confused the situation was the very small terminals at the back of the oven… There’s no way you could fit a larger cable from a dedicated feed into it.
This oven is installed using a standard 13amp plug and plugged into your normal ring main. You do not need a dedicated cooker/plug socket. The appliance cannot use all of the functions at the same time..Only one can be used which is why it should be fitted with standard 2.5 round cable and not grey flat cable.

The flex you need is H05VV-FG, available in all local DIY shops and places like Screwfix etc (though the latter only sell in reels of flex whereas local stores cut to length) 😀
