We all know that overloading a washing machine can also damage its components (usually the rotating drum can get thrown out of alignment), but under loading the washer can also cause problems. Having a very small load will make the weight of the clothes accumulate on just one side of the drum and this can make your washer spin out of balance as well.

    Overloading.
Under-loading; the majority of machines have an out of balance detection system so would be less likely to cause a problem. The worst that will happen is it will refuse to spin for that wash.
Over-loading; the clothes will not wash or rinse properly.
There is an increased risk of items getting pulled down between the tubs and either jamming the drum or blocking the sump/filter.

Having waded through your web site I can fully understand your questions. Clearly you are unfamiliar with the modern washing machine especially with regard to overloading.

The subject is covered in detail using the link below, enjoy the read 😀

Overloading hands down. Overloading is bad for the motor, under loading is bad for the drum (Over heating but depends on the settings). If the motor is done, your machine is done 🙂
