This machine mainly works fine but sometimes on medium heat (140-160) it heats up to temp alright, then for no reason everything will just shut off….. heat – display – lights

Then it will just come on again afterwards and carry on working. I’m not thinking about any sort of temp cutout because it generally happens when its not that hot.

    Any ideas please?

got to be a power supply problem

first try a different socket in case its that, most machines start where they left off in case of power failure

That’s difficult one then as its a double oven so it’ll be hardwired but maybe the socket could still be faulty perhaps. It still works most of the time though and it normally does it on lower temps so not that much of a drain on the power supply.

But on the other hand when its working it good, so confirms the machine itself might be ok but why else might it totally cut off then restart a little later?

its the somtimes bit that makes it a puzzle

if it did it every time when it gets hot and comes back on when it cools down then i would say it a cooling fan problem and the overheat stat it cutting the unit out
    But
you are saying it only cut out somtimes on medium heat or am i reading that wrong ?

As Dave says, it has got to be a mains supply issue. So terminal block, cooker box or double pole switch fault.

Yes dave it is doing it randomly and on the lower setting, this is why I’ve tried to ask for help because it appears such a weird fault! !!

I’m gonna go with both you and Martin though atm as it does seem the most likely reasoning behind the pproblem.

    Thanks to you both

what i would do in the field is first pull the unit out. if its waist height i use a B&D workmate. check the mains terminal block and make sure you check all terminal screws for tightness.
then run the unit while its out. when it goes off you can then make sure the unit still has a mains supply. one you have eliminated that you can go from there
