    My machine stops before the rinse cycle. I pushed the buttons to get a error code and it comes up as 41. The only way to empty the machine is to put it on drain.

    The error code (41) more red herring than offering a clue as to what might be wrong I reckon. It could be that your machine is not heating. So, does that water get warm when it stops? Is the drum tumbling OK?
