I attempted to change the filters on my Hoover PU2110 upright vacuum cleaner. I ordered a set of the genuine Hoover replacements – U6 Kit, the large filter appears to be different and therefore will not fit. The old filter was a cloth type glued onto the filter cover and is tapered slightly. The new filter is thicker and if fitted in the cleaner body the filter cover door will not clip shut, also the new filter is square.
The supplier of the filter kit is baffled why it doesn’t fit. Please can someone offer advice on what the problem may be?

I think you just unclip the old filter from its retainer. Pull away the old filter and pop the new one into it.

Tried that and it doesn’t work, the old filter is a cloth type 1mm thick and glued onto the filter cover the new filter is around 7mm thick. If the new filter is used it is impossible to attach the filter cover.

You might need to fit it using a new filter cover that suits (Part no: 2576681OH)

Thank you that makes sense. Just wish Hoover had stated that some models require a different filter cover..
