KeymasterHello guys (and possibly gals)…
When we move in to our house we were happy to find it had a Diplomat ADP 8112 built in to the kitchen… and up untill now weve had no problems (it’s about 4 years old), i was only saying the other day “i’m surprised we’ve had no problems with it”, and now i’ve jinxed it, now it’s started giving an error code using the 5 lights, i’ve spent the last two days looking for the manual to decipher this code… but it would appear the missus had “tidied” it, and now i can’t find it any where… the error code is ON-ON-OFF-OFF-ON, if my memory serves me correctly, any help would be appreciated… but what would be really great is if someone could post all of the error codes and what they mean for for my Diplomat ADP 8112…Thanks in advance people…

ModeratorAssuming the light sequence is as stated then it sounds like it’s on an E3 error – the machine cannot heat the water. There are 7 listed possible faults for this although it may well be that the safety stat has tripped & just needs reset. Unfortunately I can’t go into specifics on resetting this stat, but if you check back through the threads on Diplomat/Smeg dishwashers then there should be some more info there. Failing this it’s probably engineer time I’m afraid.

Well, it seems to have worked the last few times we’ve used it, but just now i’ve opened it and the water is just a little cooler than luke-warm, i’ll check it again in 1/2 an hour, but it doesn’t (up till now) appear to have been a heating issue… i have been reading the other posts on this model and feel confident i know where the switch is… but i just wanted to make sure it was necessary, as it’s sounds like a bit of a mission getting to it… thanks for the advice NWAR
PS, I would still really appreciate it if someone could post the error codes/light sequences and their meanings for the ADP 8112 for future reference, thanks…

We can’t I’m afraid, that is copyrighted information which we cannot reproduce without the manufacturers permission.
Sorry

We are not allowed to do so by the manufacturers due to copyright infringement, they don’t even want us to know a lot of the time unless we work for them! This applies to every single manufacturer currently selling in the UK, not one has said that we can publish the fault codes and their meanings.
There’s not much you can do about it bar vote with your feet and don’t buy an electronically controlled machine presently, but almost all are controlled like this these days. 🙁

The company that owns the brand name “Diplomat” is MFI, the dishwasher itself is manufacturered by Smeg for MFI and rebadged.

you were indeed right NWAR, it was a case of it not being able to heat the water, after some dutch courage i decide to have a look for the reset switch… not too hard to find… just looked where the thermostat was inside, then looked directly under that on the bottom of the machine, it’s on again now… fingers crossed… if not, then i guess it’s engineer time 🙁
oh, and a big thanks to you all, for your help, info and suggestions, cheersApril 18, 2005 at 7:12 pm #131992admin

I’ve got the same problem with the water not heating – is the thermostat on the left hand side of the base of the machine under the element? If not, where is it? And where is/how do I get to the reset switch? The instruction manual doesn’t tell you this.
Many thanks.

How do I get to the switch, can I get to it from inside the machine – I unscrewed the bit at the bottom on the inside (where the spray arm is) but it is sealed. Can I get to it by taking the metal plate off the bottom at the front (under the door). The machine is built in and is difficult to get out, if someone could tell me how to get to the switch it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
