Neff hob E1 – lights on – nobody home.

Neff T41B30X2/01 induction hob. (forgot to get the FD no….. sorry!)

Fault reported – switch on at the wall and the display lights up. Nothing will work and child lock is definitely not on. Cook top spotless. So all the obvious tried over the phone and still not responding. E1 comes up after a while but even though I’ve searched the net for the meaning of E1, I can’t find an exact list for this model.
Just don’t want to call out until I have an idea of what could be wrong as the parts are disproportionately expensive to the cost of a new hob.
