GOF 662-80 Fault

Hi there, hope you can help.

Have a GOF 662-80. There is no serial number plate inside the door. There is a barcode label on the rear which has 3100299809160525.

Our house electrics tripped, I reset & then the electrics tripped again. We traced it to the washing machine. I assumed at first it was a pump blockage so took the pump off, cleaned it out & put it back together again. There was some stuff in there but this is all ok now.

Tried to start washer on drain cycle & from a full program. Washer starts in both cases & begins to drain or begins to fill respectively for a few secs, then goes off & starts flashing. Displays 8 flashes. I note fault code 8 is Tacho related.

I am thinking perhaps the carbon brushes (never been replaced before)? Or do you think it may be something else?

Is there anything I need to check?

Or if you suspect brushes is it just a case of getting the motor out, removing, checking they are worn down & replace. If so which ones do I need to order.
