ParticipantFollowing increased questions re this contract –
Ian & Myself thought we should clarify the terms we negotiated for work via Minerva.
These seem to be the main points that keep being asked1.No Tub/Brg jobs – send a report and close Job for full labour.
2.Sharp calls to be same /day next which is why they attract a higher labour rate £60
3.Sharp jobs are the ONLY calls we agreed a same day/next day turnaround on, none of the others had that caveat placed upon on them.
HTH
Any other questions feel free to ask

Pushing it a bit though when the Sharp call doesn’t land in the inbox until 4.00pm.

The trouble with same day/next day is the customers are not always available for same day / nexday calls.
This can make it look like you are not giving the correct service level.
It should be same day / next day or if the customer is not available same day / next day then it should be your own first available visit.
I am enjoying retirement now so I am glad not to have this type of problem now.
I would highly recommend it when you get the chance.

I took a Sharp call a month ago and turned out same day as required.
Bearings totally shot to the point where it even threw the belt so I duly put in the report and invoiced for labour as per the contract.
Since that day I have received no new jobs so I assume that they are giving the jobs to other repairers who will do tub/bearing changes.I only ever got maybe 8 or 10 jobs from them in a month so it’s not the end of the world and if I’m not keeping myself available for same/next day service then my week is easier to plan.
Payment is due this week and I will come back if I don’t get paid.

I did a job for Minerva a few months back still no payment & no other jobs.
I normally would say no to companies just phoning out of the blue but took this on due to the links with the WTA.
Are there issues?June 21, 2017 at 3:56 pm #445990Lawrence

I received about 40 calls (mainly Argos Bush cookers) over a 2 month period, then all of a sudden, haven’t had a single call in 7 weeks.
I spoke to admin department to see if there was some sort of problem, and they just said that they had gone quiet, there was no problem.
I wondered if they had lost the Argos contract or is this something they do to all contractors? -
