ParticipantGood afternoon,
Wondering if anyone could let me know the Ohms reading value of the above integrated dishwasher’s flow meter contact (pcb)
I have replaced the heat pump due to a no heat fault, which i think brought up and F9 error code.
On testing all seemed well, until the dreaded 001 minute remaining was displayed for several minutes.
However, having re-visited today the m/c aborts a wash cycle after a few minutes and displaying 00 time.
For instance on the 33 min’ shortest cycle, it drains, fills, and washes for a couple of minutes before aborting. It doesn’t drain, or display an error code, but the water tap symbol is displayed.
I’ve cleaned out the matrix, which appeared good, and now suspect the flow meter contact.
Does this sound correct, or should i be testing elsewhere too?

The flow meter is just a simple reed switch operation, same as the impeller jug on the previous model.

Do you know if it can be conclusively tested with an Ohms meter?
Thank you,

It’s just a single pole switch in essence so yes it would show 0 ohms.

stick you meter on beep setting and set the machine to fill, if it goes beep beep beep……… then its fine.

as long as the magnet is over the switch
As the water fills it turns a wheel that opens and closes the reed switch using a magnet. it is only closed circuit when the magnet is in front of the switch all other times it is open circuit.
one way you can test it ( but its not a reliable test) is to disconnect the wire and use your multimeter on buzzer mode. if you start a programme with the wire disconnected and put your multimeter across the switch as its filling it should go Beep Beep Beep etc as it closes.
its not a reliable test as the switch is used to count the water in. If it only makes 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it will let twice as much water in.the only safe way after first making sure the wires are not broken to the timer is to replace it
eastlmark had same idea but both of us have said it now

Thanks chaps,
I’ll return and test the reed switch.
Does you feel i’m looking in the right area for this problem?

very possibly if unit fills for too long it aborts to stop flooding. so faulty reed means signal is intermittent or not strong enough unit think its on a slow water supply. it will time out and abort

Thanks Dave,
That makes sense, as flow meter did seem to be operating for too long.
Will report back in due course.

Good afternoon,
I’ve just replaced the reed switch, but the problem remains.
On a wash cycle, brief drain, fill, washes for between one and two minutes, before draining and aborting cycle.
Any thoughts chaps… control module suspect?

ps forgot to state that the wiring from the board to reed switch is fine.

Make sure the flow meter impeller spins freely. If it doesn’t it’s either seizing through wear OR insufficient water pressure. Double check too that the new reed switch is OK.

Thanks for your quick reply Martin.
The impeller rotates freely, although i don’t have another reed switch in case the new one happens to be faulty.
Really struggling with this problem, and may have to refer to manufacturers.

Also wondering why no error code?
