Neff control module – can I use a cheaper (v similar) model?

Hi Have a neff fully integrated dishwasher Model: S54M45X1GB/10

It suddenly stopped working, no lights at all on panel etc. Engineer came out checked power etc to the board (all OK) and concluded that it was module that was probably faulty – but couldn’t be sure,as no further way to test it.

I looked for replacement – the listed one is : SKU: 00615494 | £178.79

BUT costing £178, I’m obviously thinking about economics of replacing this in a 7 year old dishwasher, without being sure it will fix the problem.

There is also another rmodule SKU: 644782 |£85.04 which is Substantially cheaper ; it fits a very similar neff model S54M45X5GB/01 ; as far as I can see the only difference is that my model, offers a half load option; whereas the other model offers ‘vario-speed’ ; otherwise they look identical. I’d be surprised if the rest of the machine was any different.

Does anyone have any experince if the cheaper module would work OK? I don’t mind if I have a ‘vario speed’ option instead of half load!
