Hi I recently had a new belt fitted to my LG tumble dryer and has since been making a lot of banging I phoned the engineer and he said he’d pop round but never did and doesnt answer my calls ..my hubby took it apart and between the drum and plastic housing at the front there is a lot of play should there be a foam seal in between the drum and housing at the front ..the reason I ask is because the engineer pulled out a piece about 8 inches long and said it was something out of my washing that had got stuck in there ..aby help would be appreciated. .lisa

yes, there should be a white felt ” seal ” or bearing pad whichever you prefer to call it, the LG dryer is also quite prone to the drum support wheels one at the front left under the drum and one at front right under the drum getting either very stiff due to wear or the insert the mounting pin goes thro wearing away. try giving each pin a wee squirt of WD40 or similar along the centre of the pulley to free it off and if they are worn, replace them.
