Hello, just wondering if anyone can help me out a bit- i have a beko built in fan oven model oif22300x which is about 3 years old. Last november the element burnt out and was visibly damaged so i replaced it with a genuine part from espares and everything was fine. Now 4 months later the oven will not heat up at all-absolutely nothing. Checked element visibly looked fine, took out and got my father to check it as he is good with electronics etc and it was saying about 30ohms resistance which he said should be ok?… the light does come on the front but still doesnt heat…could it be a thermostat or is something more costly like a board problem? Just wondering if i neef to throw in the towel and get a new one. Cheers

Overheat thermostat, main oven thermostat or switch are all strong possibilities most of which are pretty cheap to replace.

I had someone test the bimetal thermostat thermal limiter(fitted in the top right corner) and the cooling motor thermostat and we deduced it was the latter that was not functioning. I have just now replaced this but it is still not heating up at all.(n.b- the thermostat light stays on constantly and never goes off.) Any ideas? Seems like power is not getting to the element at all as when it blew before it had bad visible damage and still heated up a bit?

The thermostat light will stay lit till it reaches temperature, that’s correct.

The next thing to check and, often it’s obvious and visible that they’re blown, is the main selector switch, this one:

The cooling fan stat only closes when the oven reaches a certain temperature, usually about 100?C or so. If it was open when cold, it was probably okay and all it does is switch the cooling fan on and off.

The limiter should be closed, opens when it gets too hot and closes when cool.

    It’s this one for reference:

The live feed to the element is fed through the main oven stat, this one:

It just switches the live to the element/s basically, it’s just a dumb old switch really that operates on temperature.

Thanks again, if it was the switch would the fan still spin?

I think ive found the problem- there is visible damage to the selector switch and some of the contacts that seem to be connected where the cam pushes them down to select oven are warped out of shap so im suspecting its that. Thanks for the advice-i wouldnt of thought to check the switch tbh
