Moderatorseems yes more changes at Qualtex but this one make much more sense than the account cull a few weeks ago
looks like all accounts are becoming gold , silver or bronze
Bronze members who spend the smallest amounts will no longer have telephone access to technical nor can they order by phone. This makes a lot of sense as staff time taken up by small accounts is not cost effectiveAm lucky enough to get silver

We’ve started using LF And ASWO a lot more now.
Better prices on a lot of stuff and they’re interested in trade business not going behind all our backs and selling direct to the public.

I am Gold, but have now lost my Rep who was really good,Like you Mark I never use tech or phone order.
I just don’t get it is the aim to encourage you to spend more to gain benefits by being Silver or Gold, because if it is I don’t use the benefits you seem to be able to achieve.
No consultation with customers, lots of assumptions being made, parts sold retail less than trade in some cases, doesn’t bode well in my opinionApril 3, 2017 at 1:42 pm #446587kwatt

I gotta say, at first it sorta made some sense as in culling accounts or I could at least see some logic in it as it could reduce costs.
Most of the stuff I’ve seen since just makes no sense at all.
But Dave’s had a pop on a few parts being sold through retail channels at lower than our trade prices on the Qualtex site so, we just dropped buying a bunch of stuff from Qualtex.
Makes no odds to me where we get parts really.

That’s the crazy thing though ,at the very moment when for the 1st time in a long time there are viable alternatives for parts supply they pull a stunt like this.
With LF Spares and ASWO offering xtra discount as well it’s not going to end well IMHOApril 3, 2017 at 3:29 pm #446589kladave

The way I see it is that they (connect and Qualtex)think they are in a ‘blinkered’two horse race. They appear to copy each other most of the time.
But at least there are decent alternative suppliers to consider now, personally I think they have both got so much retail revenue business that we the ‘trade’ are such a small part of their day to day business.April 3, 2017 at 3:52 pm #446590kwatt

Yeah like QUAFIL132, suggested RRP on Qualtex trade site is £3.68 yet they’re flogging it openly on Amazon under the Qualtex name for £2.49 including delivery!
Yet if you ordered a one-off you’d pay £1 odds then a fiver delivery, mad.
Apparently the notion of supporting the trade would certainly appear to have been tossed out.
